Victory Leads The Way For AFE To
Take Second Partner Of The Year Award

Along with its sister AGA Foodservice Equipment companies, Victory Refrigeration was honored for its contributions to reducing energy consumption and promoting environmental responsibility at the ENERGY STAR® awards banquet held at the Omni Shoreham in Washington, DC, on March 21st. Unlike the other AFE companies, though, this is not the first time Victory has earned ENERGY STAR recognition.
Victory, in fact, earned an ENERGY STAR Manufacturing Partner of the Year award in 2006, making AFE the first and only foodservice equipment company to receive such recognition in the 18-year history of the ENERGY STAR program.
For some AFE brands, reduced energy usage can be attributed to one or two key features. Victory, however, achieves energy efficiency in its equipment by doing many little things right. Its products are designed with balanced and appropriately sized refrigeration systems, and 2 1/2" to 3" of insulating foam surround all models' cabinets, compared with 1 3/4" commonly used by competitors. All gaskets, thermal breakers and door linings are made of high-quality materials. "These things," said Mark Whalen, president of Victory and AFE, "all keep the heat out and the cold in."
According to information available on the ENERGY STAR web site, www.energystar.gov, such features can reduce operators' refrigeration energy consumption by as much as 45%.
Another factor that helped AFE win a second-straight Manufacturing Partner of the Year award is its commitment to promoting its energy-efficient equipment and the ENERGY STAR program. Whalen noted that energy efficiency is in fact one of the three pillars of Victory's marketing strategy.
"Our V2E campaign stands for Victory value, our category-exclusive standard two-year warranty and energy efficiency," Whalen stated. In addition, Victory stresses to its dealers and reps that many power companies are now offering rebates to end-users who purchase the most energy-efficient equipment. "We're reinforcing where dealers and reps can find rebates on our products for their customers in all of our sales presentations," he noted.
Through such intelligent salesmanship, marketing effort and a strict attention to every detail in product design and engineering, Victory Refrigeration has proven itself for two years running to be a leader in the area of energy efficiency among all other category manufacturers.
