Multimax B: Advanced Features And Simplified Controls

A major component of Eloma's go-to-market strategy is offering combi ovens with computerized control panels that are both programmable and user friendly, such as the controls offered on the company's Genius T line.

To accommodate the needs of those who prefer a more traditional control panel, however, AGA Foodservice Equipment has introduced the Multimax B combi oven to the U.S. foodservice market.

The Multimax B shares much of its design and technology with the Genius T line. It is boilerless, comes in the same sizes (from six- to 20-pan capacities), offers highly energy-efficient performance and precise control over cooking chamber heat and humidity. It can cook with heat, steam or a combination of both and can be used as a hot-holding cabinet and to rethermalize chilled foods.

But, while the Genius offers a programmable interface, the Multimax B provides end-users with traditional knob-based controls.

"Many operators like the simplicity and sturdiness of knob controls, but they also like the features and benefits that only Eloma combi ovens provide. With the Multimax B, they can have both," noted Mitch Cohen, vice president of cooking system sales for Eloma.

According to Cohen, one of the primary markets for the Multimax B is the school foodservice sector, where many kitchen staffers prefer a traditional control panel. Casino foodservices have also expressed interest in the simplified controls, he added.

Like all Eloma products, the Multimax B features a patented heat-exchange system that is designed to keep energy and water usage in check, and it is covered by a standard two-year parts-and-labor warranty. It also is equipped with an automatic self-cleaning system as a standard feature, a benefit many combi manufacturers exclude from all but their high-end products, Cohen noted

The Multimax B is in stock and is available for immediate delivery, Cohen said. Attendees at The NAFEM Show, set for Oct. 11 to 13 in Atlanta, will be able to see the unit at the AGA booth, # 2905.
