Aga  AFE Builds Its Brands At NRA

     Concerns that the annual National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago is turning into a purely regional event should be somewhat allayed after the trade exposition held earlier this month, according to Mark Whalen, president of Aga Foodservice Equipment (and Victory Refrigeration).

    "All things considered, it was a good show. NRA hit bottom maybe three or four years ago, but now it seems to be coming back," he related.

New Victory Lines Earn Positive Reviews At NRA

    Of Aga Foodservice Equipment's four companies (Eloma, Infinity Fryers, Victory Refrigeration, and Stellar Steam), Victory Refrigeration took the bragging rights for displaying the newest equipment at the recent National Restaurant Association Show.

    During the show, which was held from May 19 to May 22 in Chicago, dealers, consultants, end-users and other industry members had the chance to evaluate Victory's new glass door merchandiser and back bar refrigeration lines. Both lines were introduced earlier this year.

Customers Justify Infinity Strategy At NRA

    One of the key ways Infinity Fryers works to differentiate its products in the market is through a strategy of promoting the features that separate its models from competing manufacturers' equipment. At the 2007 National Restaurant Association Show, which was held in Chicago from May 19 to May 22, the interest many attendees showed in Infinity justified that approach.

    According to Mitch Cohen, vice president of cooking system sales for Infinity Fryers, Stellar Steam and Eloma combi ovens, a high percentage of booth visitors he spoke with have a direct say in the equipment purchasing decisions of large, potential customers.

Live Eloma Demos At NRA Draw Crowds

    Since combi oven cooking is continuing to gain ever-wider acceptance in the U.S. foodservice industry, the recent National Restaurant Association Show offered Eloma an opportunity to demonstrate exactly what its combi ovens are capable of doing for end-users.

    During the show, Aga Foodservice Equipment's Corporate Chefs Mike Nicholson and Steve Goellner conducted continuous live cooking demonstrations with Eloma ovens, drawing a crowd and exposing everyone from casual passersby to potential multi-unit customers to the benefits of combi cooking in general and Eloma's products in particular.
